Double Entry Door Design Ideas

Double entry door – The entrance door of any home or building must stand out in an elegant way. Create the door to complement the architecture without looking flashy. You want the entrance to look inviting and provide ample space to carry furniture or supplies in and out of the building. If possible, create a double entrance door to open space to move large furniture or make the living area seem more inviting. The door color must always blend harmoniously with the porch and the shape of the windows. Review design books and remodeling magazines to imagine various doors that can work for your home or building.  Draw in front of the home or build with different types of doors that report more than one choice. Sketching a colonial door with colonial door framing, a smooth door without panels or recessed areas and upscale molding, and an ornate double door with side panels of glass from top to bottom.

Design an entrance that fits well with the roof of a porch. Avoid if possible to hide too much of the door entrance trim under the roof line porch if viewed from the front of the curb. Buy a door that will not look too big for the space it will fit as this approach will make the porch or home look too small. Use two floor to ceiling shutters to frame a door that looks too narrow if you do not have room to install a double entry door system. Choose a front door design that provides good protection of the building or home. Avoid using too much glass, for example, as it indicates vulnerability.

Create a double-door system if you want to add more focus to the door itself. Leave one of the doors locked most of the time unless you have lots of foot traffic. Create special wood casting for the entire door area’s perimeter to really add visual appeal to the entrance. Use this type of door system on a very long house that needs more width for the entrance to balancing the architecture. Install a double entry door with a small space between the two doors on a duplex or house with separate in-law apartment on the one hand, as well.
