Fiberglass entry doors require almost no maintenance, even less maintenance than steel doors. Finally, despite the best efforts of the technology, steel doors will begin to rust if they are not serviced. Much can be done to inhibit oxidation but you still need to keep steel doors to keep them in perfect condition. You can take almost any knife or other pointy object and drill straight through the steel on most steel doors. You cannot do this to a fiberglass entry door. If someone tries to kick in the entrance door, they cannot enter, but they will certainly dent the door if it is steel.
